Collagen. The buzz word du jour

Forget wasting your money on beauty products with collagen in them to plump your skin. I will just tell you now, straight up, they do.not. work. Why? Simple! Collagen molecules are too big to penetrate your skin’s epidermis, so those products are basically a load of bull.

You can thank me later for saving you tons of wasted money and adding to your beauty product graveyard (don’t be embarrassed, we all have ’em).

However, not all collagen is a waste. Actually, the opposite. Collagen is a wonderful supplement. You just have to actually ingest it for the benefits. Collagen is a natural ingredient that has been used for centuries. Collagen-rich foods are a large part of traditional diets (HELLO BONE BROTH OBSESSION!). Our ancestors utilized whole-animal nutrition, which provided an abundant amount of collagen, the native form of gelatin. Over time, we have lost touch with this powerful, healing superfood.

The science is promising on collagen. In one recent study, women who took a collagen supplement daily experienced a 20% reduction in wrinkle depth around their eyes after 8 weeks.
