There are a few things that I recommend ALWAYS having in your pantry. They make life easy, they make life good.

I keep these babies along with fresh fruits, vegetables, greek yogurt and eggs ALWAYS in stock so when I am in a pitch, no matter the time of day, I know I can whip something up.

My Kitchen Pantry Must haves:

French Lentils – I am partial to French lentils because they hold their structure better than their red, green and yellow counterparts, meaning they stay firmer. I use lentils in everything. I love lentils as they are high in fiber, and you know how I feel about fiber. The more the better. Lentils are great for veggie tacos, in salads, soups and even alone. I can’t get enough. I like this brand a lot. I always have plenty of lentils in my pantry.

Manuka Honey – Who knew that honey is such a health food superpower? Well, I mean, I think a lot of people know but Manuka is the creme de la creme. Yes it is more expensive but it is worth it and I swear by its healing properties. Manuka honey, produced in New Zealand by bees that pollinate the Manuka bush, is one of the most unique and beneficial forms of honey in the world. Historically honey has been used for medicinal purposes dating back thousands of years. Seeing that it is one of nature’s richest antimicrobial sources, it shouldn’t surprise us to hear that many archeologists claim that while excavating the tombs of Egyptian royals from thousands of years ago, they discovered unspoiled honey in pots! (Source). I take a spoonful of honey every time I feel a cold coming on or the flu and it helps shorten the span of it. It soothes itchy sore throats, but it does so much more. I ONLY buy this brand, Wedderspoon but you can look around there are many good ones. I have a stock of it in the pantry. I buy mine on Amazon as I love my prime membership and I think they have the best prices. However, I have had wholefoods deliver to my apartment when I run out and NEED it that second.

Let’s Skip The Sandwich Wraps by Tumaro’s- My best friend told me about this wrap. I love love love wraps but I hate how high in calories they, it just feels like a waste. Not with these babies, they are only 60 cals which is GREAT. I fill them with sliced turkey, veggies, I make tacos with these, also even breakfast burritos with eggs and hot sauce. Yum! You can find them in local health food stores, I ordered mine on Target. They have tons of flavors.

Ghee- You should know my love for Ghee, if not, read this post. Use ghee for EVERYTHING where I would have used butter or olive or vegetable oils before. Fourth and Heart is my favorite brand and comes in tons of flavors, my favorite are white truffle (I absolutely LOVE anything with truffle, seriously, its a problem. I can not get enough. It ups the flavor of anything you are making. Eggs with truffles? YES!) and Madagascar vanilla bean. Oh em gee. You can order on amazon, comes lightning fast.

Matcha – Are you sick of me talking about Matcha yet? I will say you another diatribe on why you should be drinking matcha. If you want to read about it, here you go. I FREAKIN’ love matcha. I need ti everyday or, well, let’s just say it ain’t pretty.

ZenBunni Gheenache- Ganache made out of Ghee. Chocolate + Ghee. Period. Do I need to say more? You can buy at one of my fave stores, Cap Beauty.

Himalayan Pink Salt- Sorry, but I just font want to live a life where you can not have salt on your food. I admit it. And guess what? No one should. Salt in moderation is not a horrible thing. Read my post on my affair with pink salt here. I am never without this stuff. I freak with I am low in my pantry. You can find tons of brands here but I am partial to Moon Juice’s pink salt.

Garbanzo Bean Flour (aka Chickpea flour)- We can all agree, white flour is not ideal to consume. I avoid it as much as possible. I don’t freak out over it but I try not to eat it. It is over processed with zero nutritional value. However, if you love baking its hard to live without some sort of flour. I use chickpea flour. This is the only brand I have used and I like it, so no reason to switch. It is insanely high in fiber and has a neutral flavor. Win! You can use to thicken up soups and stews. Also, this stuff is DELICIOUS to make falafel patties with. Yum!
